| The
Zookeepers Collection by Harmony Kingdom is an ongoing
series devoted to the care of needy animals throughout
the world. |
| Pelican
Island, a small three-acre island off Florida's east
coast, is American's first national wildlife refuge. |
| In 1903
President Roosevelt issued an executive order that set
aside Pelican Island as a "preserve and breeding ground
for native birds". This historic event
marked the beginning of the National Wildlife Refuge
System, a network of almost 500 refuges encompassing 93
million acres. |
| Today
Pelican Island faces its most challenging threat; the
development of its surrounding shoreline. This
development is stressing the eco-system and could prove
disastrous to the first and most sacred national
historic landmark in the USA. |
|
| Inside the box is an anchor lying on
sand, along with a fish and a starfish. |
| The various
hallmarks are located along the base, and we have 1st Edition or 1st Mould
available. |
| Also, as seen on the bottom of the
box, it was made in England. |
