| In January 2000, Rowe Pottery
Works of Wisconsin introduced a line of tableware called Country
Craftsman. They produced samples, or prototypes, for display
at trade shows. They decided against producing the series by the
end of the month. |
| CollectiblesRome has some of
these prototypes available. All are in perfect
condition. However, unless stated otherwise, there is only
one of each available. |
| The
vibrant colors will co-ordinate beautifully with the
Rowe salt-glaze pottery. |

Each year Rowe Pottery Works
introduces a new collection of historical pottery that reflects the
culture of generations past. |
|
The 2005 grouping was inspired by
salt glaze pottery used in the 1850s, shortly before the Civil War. |
| When paired with
a pitcher, the bowl was used for washing in the privacy of
the bedroom or bath chamber, in a time when running water
was a luxury. |

To create the historical series,
the Rowe craftsmen use salt glazing techniques dating back to the
16th Century. The bumpy, orange-peel surface along
with the brown, green & dark grey colorations are all
characteristics of this traditional pottery making process as it was
fired in wood burning kilns. |

| This large ash glaze
brown-tone bowl was introduced in early 2005 and retired at the
end of that year. |
